facebook and facebook live
At the Pittsburgh Business Times, I created weekly Facebook Live videos to connect readers with reporters in a personal way focused on the print product's cover story or events hosted by the publication.
- Up to about 800 views for each video
- 22 percent increase in followers since then

For the Ellwood City Ledger, I focused on creating more engaging posts, especially using graphics that I created.
- 538 percent increase in its reach
- 40 percent jump in its followers
Throwback thursday
At the Beaver County Times, I revived the dormant Instagram account and increased followers by 32 percent. I wanted to highlight the good work of the staff photographers and use resources the Times had on-hand, like the glossy prints of photos from the late '80s and early '90s in the library archive. So, I started a #ThrowbackThursday feature, later adapted for the print product as "Flashback Friday", spread across the front page of the Local section every week.

Instagram stories
For Instagram Stories, I would go out on assignment and shoot packages using stand-up intros and outros, emojis and stickers, text and source interviews, all in 15-second vertical-video clips that fit the format.

live tweets
I have always maintained an active, engaged professional Twitter account, where I share links for my stories, but also behind-the-scenes coverage and looks into the newsroom, extra photos and videos from stories that I'm reporting or editing. I enjoy live tweeting events, including professional development workshops and panel discussions to give readers who couldn't be there live a little taste of what was happening with the hope that it encourages them to attend the next event.

Photos, videos and web design
I have also shot and edited photos, video and audio for my professional and student work in addition to creating or managing several web and graphic design projects.
My event coverage photos are featured in the Center for Media Innovation social media posts, monthly newsletters and annual report. See pages 20-21, 30-34 for examples of my photography work.
Additionally, I managed the practicum student who designed the annual report, then conceptualized presenting the report in a flippable digital format, which I researched, implemented and distributed to the CMI's constituents.

For the three-day intensive Keystone Multimedia Workshop, hosted by Penn State, I chose the subject matter, interviewed, shot and edited this video about Carnegie Mellon start-up TalkMeUp and its founder JJ Xu (left). I then edited it, and added music and captions to the original version to be used during my marketing internship at CMU's Tepper School of Business (right).
For my graduate-level multimedia production class at Point Park University, I used interviewed Center for Media Innovation director Andrew Conte about his Media Oasis Project. For the video, I shot it using three-point lighting, then edited it, adding music, lower-third graphics and Broll.
For Web design class at Point Park University, I organized, designed and developed a website for the nonprofit community service project West Newton Avenue of Flags, which I co-chair every May. I took all of the photos and wrote all of the web copy used on the site.
